Built around the original work
Every public or unlisted annotation visibly credits and links its source. Authorized clips are no more than 90 seconds and video renditions are no taller than 240p. Sources that should not be copied stay in official bounded embeds.
Accountable without forcing publicity
Google and X are the only sign-in methods. An author can hide their public identity, but Annotated retains internal ownership so deletion, abuse handling, and claims remain enforceable. Profiles and activity have independent privacy controls.
A real community, not a clipping utility
People can follow profiles, vote, bookmark, discuss points in threaded comments, explore public annotations, and see which canonical sources are receiving the most attention.
