Add Annotated to Chrome.
Highlight text on any public page or choose a bounded video range, add your point in the sidebar, and publish it to your real Annotated account. Google and X sign-in, publishing, profiles, and optional direct X posts are enabled.
02 · Add to Chrome
Open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the build folder.
03 · Annotate
Pin Annotated, sign in once, then highlight text or mark a bounded video range without leaving the source.
Permissions and privacy
What Annotated can access
Permissions are scoped to the task: the active tab for context and selection, side panel UI, local draft storage, and the configured Annotated Sync Host for authentication.
- Text is captured only when you select it or paste a URL.
- Microphone access is requested only when you start recorded commentary.
- Video range controls appear only while you are clipping the source video and are limited to 90 seconds.
- Unsupported, private-network, authentication, and protected media pages are blocked with a reason.
- Google and X authentication, publishing, sharing, and optional direct X posting use the production Annotated service.
This private-beta package is connected to annotated.jell.dev. Chrome Web Store review is still pending, so installation currently uses Chrome’s Load unpacked flow.
